What's New About This?

You spoke, and we listened. We've made some exciting improvements.

✓ Improved Escape Free Functionality - we've repositioned the two side strap sliders. This allows the harness to contract even more when your pup is trying to slip out of the harness.

✓ Reinforced Internal Nylon Strap - there's a hidden internal nylon strap that's sandwiched between the inner and outer layer of the harness. It's a fully body strap that wraps around your dog's entire chest and adds an extra layer of protection.

✓ Metal Hardwares - even though the POM plastic d-rings were already secure, people were still having doubt whether it was strong enough. So, we changed the leash attachment d-rings and the strap adjuster hex rings from POM plastic to metal.

✓ Reflective Linings - we added reflective lining to increase visibility when walking at night.

✓ Scratch Resistant Outer Layer - keeps the harness away from fraying when your dog scratches it with their paws.

✓ Moisture Wicking Chest Plate - dries quickly against wet elements on those walks.

✓ Quick Release Buckle - easier on your fingers and requires less effort to open.

Why Escape Free?

How many times has your dog tried to escape by backing out of its harness? The result of "that one time my dog escaped from its harness" can be a scary one. If you're fortunate, you might be able to catch your dog before something happens. But as dog parents ourselves, we are all certain that none of us want to ever take that chance.

The Gooby Escape Free Series were created for exactly that. The Patented Escape Free design contracts the harness when dogs try to back out, which tightens the space around their body and hugs them tightly so the harness will not slip off.

The Escape Free Easy Fit Plus is an excellent choice if you're looking for that core Escape Free Functionality but do not need other added functions such as memory foam padding or the extra 4 point adjustments. It is very similar to the Escape Free Easy Fit but with improved features!

Its improved features are found below:

  • Reinforced Nylon Straps - The nylon strap is sandwiched in between the inner and outer layer to provide even more durability, security, and safety.
  • Reflective Linings - Enhances visibility for your pup during nighttime walks.
  • Metal Hardwares - The D-rings and Hexagonal rings are made of metal for extra security.
  • Moisture Wicking Chest Plate - Dries quickly and protects against splashes or wet grass during daily walks.
  • Scratch Resistant Layer - Provides additional durability and protects against abrasions from everyday use.

The harness boasts a triple-layer construction crafted for durability and comfort:

  • Scratch-resistant outer layer
  • Neoprene inner layer

Additionally, a reinforced full-body nylon strap is sandwiched between the inner and outer layers to enhance durability, security, and safety.

The Escape Free Easy Fit Plus Harness is equipped with the Escape Free Functionality, a tightening mechanism that allows the harness to hug the dog's body whenever the leash is pulled or activated.

This feature is meant to discourage the dog from pulling or escaping from the harness. It also provides a snug and secure fit that can help prevent the harness from slipping or twisting.

When the mechanism is activated, it tightens and reduces the space around your dog's back and hugs them tightly.

This prevents your dog from slipping out when they attempt to back out.

Therefore providing a comfortable and safe experience for both the dog and the owner.

Please follow these steps:

1. Loosen all of the straps on the harness.
2. Place the harness on the ground, with the side that has the Gooby logo facing up.
3. Have your dog step into the two openings of the harness with their front legs.
4. Pull the harness up and over your dog's back and securely fasten the buckle.
5. To ensure a proper fit, adjust the rubber adjusters to the desired opening of about 1 finger's width of space between the back of the dog and the harness.
6. Make sure to periodically check the fit of the harness and adjust as necessary to ensure your dog's comfort and safety. Also, ensure that the D-rings for attaching the leash is securely fastened to prevent your dog from escaping.

We've had feedbacks from our community that the tightening feature of the harness when it’s pulled makes it potentially useful during training.

However, we did not design this for training purposes. It was designed for dogs that have a tendency to pull by backing up.

We recommend the following:

- using a gentle cycle with mild detergent and cold water
- rinse the harness thoroughly before air drying it.

No. The sizing charts for the Escape Free Easy Fit and the Escape Free Easy Fit Plus harnesses are not the same.

The Easy Fit Plus tends to run smaller compared to the Easy Fit.

Please refer to the respective sizing chart for each model to ensure that your pet gets the most comfortable and secure fit possible.

Yes, it's suitable for normal outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, and running.

All Gooby Escape Free harnesses has a patented design that can significantly reduce or even eliminate the risk of a dog escaping, particularly dogs that have a tendency to pull by backing up.


Couple important reminders:


1. No harness can prevent escape 100% of the time. This is especially true when the fit is incorrect.
2. The tightening mechanism (i.e. the Escape Free Functionality) is only activated when the leash is pulled. When there's no active pulling involved, the mechanism loosens. This is to ensure your pup is comfortable or else the harness would be tight around their body at all times, making your pup uncomfortable.

Use the adjustment tabs on the straps to customize the space between the buckle/clip and your dog's back, as well as how wide the harness opens.

Move the tabs closer to the buckle if you want to tighten the harness, and adjust them towards the D-rings for a looser fit.

For best fit, the harness should fit in a way so that there is about 1 finger's width of space between the back of the dog and the harness.

All Escape Free harnesses are equipped with the same escape free functionality, but their level of comfort and adjustability differs.

While the Escape Free Easy Fit Plus and Easy Fit are both lightweight, they differ on the material. The Sport and Memory Foam harnesses have greater adjustability due to the presence of 4-point adjusters.

Meanwhile, the Escape Free Comfort X One stands out as the only head-in harness in the series.

Therefore, we do not advise connecting any of our harnesses to any restraint systems. Any misuse of our harnesses can potentially result in product failure and/or even injury to your dog.

While the Escape Free Easy Fit Plus Harness can be used inside the car, it is not expected to function as a dog car harness.
