Our mini Aussie is 24 pounds and couldn’t fit in a large. It was too small. The website was out of stock for a lot of the sizes/colors which is disappointing. Also the different types of harnesses fit differently too so I would refer to the size chart and then maybe size up from there. Not sure why a small dog would need an XL harness seems ridiculous. But it was nice looking quality
I am pleased overall with the harness. It looks cute on my dog, it’s sturdy and the adjustments allow for a secure fit for a small breed. It took some digging to figure out what “convertible” meant before the purchase, so FYI, per the answered questions portion of their website: “The convertible harness is not reversible. The "convertible" aspect of this harness refers to a mixture in design between the "head-in" and "step-in" harness.” I like the neoprene, the color palate and the airy design. I’m not worried about it fraying. There is a plastic buckle for the chest, 2 D Rings the clip the leash to, and a Velcro collar to secure the neck. I believe the harness is designed to bear the weight of a dog pulling through the chest plate, traveling up the nylon straps, in turn, connecting to the buckle, so no stress is placed on the Velcro closure. I also asked before my purchase about the chest plate length, because my lil guy is short chested and I have bought harnesses based on chest circumference measurements only to find they are too long. I received an efficient customer service response: Here are the chest plates dimensions (for all sizes) for your reference: S - 7.5" M - 8" L - 9" XL - 11" The only thing I’m unsure of is - to me - the nylon straps feel ridged and scratchy at the point of transition. I also get worried that I’ve twisted it when I go to put it on him and he’s bouncing around all excited like, because of the inside out, pinched in the middle, kind of flip they made when securing the strap. My pup doesn’t seem to mind the feel though. And my personal preference also has no bearing on the actual quality of the harness itself. The harness is well made and a good purchase. Would recommend.
